The veiled chameleon is a popular species of chameleon from Yemen. Also known as the Yemen Chameleon, Veiled Chameleon are quite popular as pet reptiles. Unfortunately, most pet shops offer wild caught specimens that are older, and often sick with parasites. Here at Tortoise Town, like all of our reptiles for sale, our veiled chameleons are offered 100% captive bred. That means we have hatched them and raised them up rather than taken them out of the wild.
Buying a veiled chameleon as far as the cost goes will be cheaper than most other species. They are generally easier to find and therefore plentiful and cheaper than most other species. Still, they are a beautiful creature, just not as colorful or as handleable as the cousin the panther chameleon. Veiled are still super cool and less expensive so if you are on a budget consider them.
They are known for not being as friendly as the panther however working with them makes a huge difference. We handle our baby chams often to get them used to human interaction and it makes all the difference in the world regarding how they end up likely to be interacted with or just maybe viewed from afar.
